Ink Cap Mushroom Glass Dome
A small tuft of shaggy mane ink caps, Coprinopsis atramentaria, "growing" from a forest floor. When these unique mushrooms reach maturity, the cap melts into a black ink-like liquid.
When I visited Washington this past October, we came across quite a few of these interesting bundles, so it was a joy to finally finish making these mushrooms (they've been patiently waiting for over a year to be completed, thankfully they didn't turn to ink during that long wait).
Materials & Measurements:
- Hand sculpted and painted ink cap mushrooms, varnished to protect from UV light harm
- Ground cover: real & preserved moss, tree bark, and lichen
